Brandon Boehm brings more than 25 years of experience in employee benefit program consulting to Americanized Benefit Consultants. Before founding his own company, Brandon worked at Memorial Hospital’s TPA – HealthNet, Madison Benefits Group and Chapman Schewe.
The vision of solid money management combined with impeccable service to employees brought about the creation of Americanized Benefit Consultants. Brandon has helped implement benefit programs for small start-ups all the way to large publicly traded companies. Brandon’s well-rounded background allows him to intensely negotiate medical/RX stop loss contracts, prescription benefit program contracts, design plans and benefit programs along with creating the Personal Benefit Department (PBD) for your employees to receive direct help immediately. Most recently, Brandon has been recognized as preferred broker for several top insurers.
A native Houstonian, Brandon graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Brandon is married to Carey and has a son, Luke and a daughter, Lily, along with three step children, Makenzie, Bailey and Sawyer.

Wade Crawford brings more than 25 years of insurance knowledge and experience to Americanized Benefit Consultants and is established in the Houston marketplace as a leader in employee benefits planning.
He provides sound counsel and cost-effective benefit plans for clients in all areas of group medical, stop loss, short/long term disability, life/AD&D and voluntary products.
While a Regional Sales Director for GE/Genworth Financial, he designed and implemented employee benefit plans for well over 150 self-funded clients. Wade also successfully facilitated partnerships with TPAs and managed care networks to significantly grow GE/Genworth Financial’s self-funded business. Wade is highly skilled at analyzing network savings to ensure clients the best financial outcome.
In addition to new business development and employee benefit planning, Wade serves as a self-funded consultant to other insurance brokers evaluating their clients for compatibility with self-funded benefit options.
A native Houstonian, Wade earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been married for over 20 years and has three children.
Jeremy Loftin brings over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing employee benefit plans to Americanized Benefit Consultants. After a 5-year tenure with Houston Lighting & Power in public relations, Jeremy entered the employee benefits market and has been running his own successful employee benefits firm.
While operating his own firm, Jeremy gained valuable experience in all aspects of group benefits including plan design, consulting, implementation and day-to-day service. Taking meticulous care of each client and looking out for their best interest is his calling card, giving his clients what he likes to call “the benefits of personal attention.” Jeremy is well-respected in the business community and maintains strong relationships with his clients and insurance carriers.
Jeremy is a native Houstonian and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been married for 20 years to his wife Shari and has two boys, Jackson and Harrison. Aside from coaching youth sports, Jeremy is very active in his local church where he serves as a deacon and teaches in the youth department.
James Day brings over 21 years of experience from the TPA and insurance carrier perspective. During his career, James worked on mostly self-funded large groups with 1,000 plus lives. He brings a proven track record of experience of selling, implementing, and managing in excess of 190,000 covered lives.
James worked as the Sales Director for Memorial Hermann Hospital for over eight years. This experience provides ABC and their clients additional insight into provider discounts and payment disputes. During this time James was named Project Manager and placed in charge of launching a new fully insurance product for the Hospital System (MHealth). This experience introduced him to numerous contacts within the industry relating to compliance including the Department of Labor, ERISA, State Insurance Department and even the IRS.
James was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Houston in 1980. He attended Blinn College and then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Houston. He has two children, Emily and Grayson. James, a resident of The Woodlands is active in his local church (The Loft) and volunteers with The Will Herndon Fund.
Client Services Director
Tammy Brisco brings more than 20 years of industry experience and knowledge to Americanized Benefit Consultants. Prior to joining our firm, she worked as an Account Manager for national consulting and brokerage firms.
As Client Service Director, her main focus is to provide superior customer service to the clients and their employees and dependents. She provides custom employee benefit packages, claims resolution, Q&A sessions for employees and their dependents, online training and compliance reminders. By providing clients with tailored services, Tammy is able to increase the retention of our groups.
Tammy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Houston. She also has a certification for International Marketing Management. She is currently studying for Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
Rita Peng has a degree from University of Houston – Victoria in information systems along with a MBA in finance. Rita is also fluent in English and Chinese. Rita has been working in accounting and is in charge of large numbers of transactions on a daily basis. Rita is also responsible for the daily accounting summary report which includes budgeting, commissions, taxes payable and income reports. She is an expert on QuickBooks.
Currently, Rita is the Financial Director of Americanized Benefit Consultants (ABC) and has been employed for almost five years. The Financial Director is in charge of cost reporting, tax filing, budget analyzing and business evaluating. She manages ABC’s accounting and financial systems which maintains full and accurate accounting records along with payroll systems.
Maria Elena Cantu
Sr. Account Manager, Entrepreneurial Division
Maria Elena Cantu is one of Americanized Benefit Consultants’ valued Account Managers. She has more than 34 years of experience in the insurance industry and is licensed in property & casualty as well as life & health insurance.
Maria has worked for both the insurance carriers and brokerage agencies, making her in-depth knowledge and professional experience invaluable to Americanized Benefit Consultants. Her constant communication, attention to detail and professional customer service enables her to provide sales and service to sole proprietors, small groups and individuals seeking healthcare benefits.
In an ever-changing market, Maria Elena’s strong Spanish skills are a great asset to us and our clients during benefit presentations, enrollment meetings and in offering ongoing client support.
Maria Elena is a native Texan with a heart for helping people.
Bob Blankenship has worked in the Houston employee benefits market for 36 years. He has experience in all aspects of the business including medical, ancillary and voluntary benefits, and is a great asset to Americanized Benefit Consultants as a Benefit Consultant.
He began his career in 1972 with Blue Cross – Blue Shield in direct sales. In 1978, Bob opened the Houston Group Office for CNA. He has also worked for Great West Life, Phoenix Mutual and Provident Mutual.
In 1988, Bob joined Mutual of Omaha as a Sales Representative where he led the Houston Group Office in sales in each of his first seven years. He was promoted to District Manager in 1996 and his office was consistently in the Top 10. His office led the company in total sales in 2000 and 2002. In 2004, he began working for AFLAC and he continues to represent them as part of his current position at Americanized Benefit Consultants.
Bob is very active in his church, singing in the choir and involved in the Men’s Ministry. He is a Lifetime Committeeman for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. In 2008, he was part of the inaugural Rodeo Choir. Bob is married and has three grown children and three grandsons.
Dr. Thelma Champion
Dr. Thelma Champion is the Wellness Director for Americanized Benefit Consultants. Her lifelong commitment to health and nutrition along with 13 years as a practicing chiropractor, offer a well-rounded and experienced approach to designing wellness programs targeted at improving employee productivity and increasing longevity.
Thelma earned her degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1995. She is also a registered Massage Therapist. She is experienced in treating patients of all ages and well-versed at designing programs to meet individual wellness needs. Thelma offers a comprehensive approach to wellness by combining her professional experience with her extensive knowledge in nutrition, exercise, anti-aging and weight loss programs.
A native of Texas, Thelma is a dedicated mother of two and enjoys running, travel, yoga and time with her family.
Analytics Development Specialist
Chris Fisher brings more than a decade of experience in the healthcare and technology sectors that he leverages to bring creative cost control solutions to ABC clients. He focuses on drilling down into the claims data at a very granular level to identify trends, challenges and most importantly, opportunities to help both employers and employees save money on healthcare costs.
Chris has worked with groups from 100 employees to over 10,000 employees and identified millions of dollars in potential savings for these groups. He is passionate about trying to control the cost of healthcare which has been out of control for far too long.
Michael adds his long-term care insurance (LTCI) experience to ABC's available services. He has worked in the long-term care world since 2001 and has experience with a numerous insurance carriers and national LTCI firms.
He assists our clients with individual policies, family plans, executive carve-out plans and small and large group health insurance plans.
Michael has also helped our clients meet Affordable Care Act requirements at affordable rates.
Michael was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from LSU with a business degree. He lived in San Diego for 25 years and has resided in Clear Lake since 2005. He has a passion for sailing and tropical locations and is a pleasure to work with.
Consultant & Supplemental Specialist, Bilingual
Maria Jara brings a 25-year track record in insurance, retirement, securities, international markets, industry knowledge and experience to Americanized Benefit Consultants. Maria is fully licensed in general lines insurance (life, health, accident, disability, annuities, long-term care, supplemental plans, Medicare certification, and property and casualty).
Maria’s foundational approach and philosophy for a successful benefits program is to implement, communicate and educate on state-of-the-art benefit solutions focusing on top quality voluntary plans for an utmost utilization of benefit plans.
Maria is a well-rounded professional insurance and benefits educator, and speaker (bilingual) at private/public institutions, educational centers, communities and non-profit organizations. She has a passion for educating individuals and families in order to enhance their well-being and quality of life. She is an advocate of fine arts, specifically instrumental music and linguistics, excellence in educational, social skills, interpersonal and analytical skills.
She earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Houston Downtown with a major in Education and Minor in Communications and Spanish.
